Default Engine Heat

I was wondering if anyone thought of wrapping the exhaust pipe that runs from the front exhaust manifold over the tranny and connects to the rest of the exhaust with header wrap to reduce heat? i get a lot of people commenting on how hot the hood and on how much heat is coming off the engine. My engine isn't overheating by anymeans it just seems really hot. anything that could reduce the heat wouldn't hurt, just wondering if anyone has done it and if they noticed any changes?

I wrapped the pipe that crosses over the tranny and also my CAI pipe made a big difference. On the hottest days you can touch that pipe and feel the heat trapped. Well worth the time to wrap it!

My monte carlo latley has been getting 2 to 4/5 needles about the middle heat range which i beleive is 210 directly in the middle. The first time this happened i was concerned and it happened right after i did my oil and i forgot a quart. After i put the oil in it never got hot like that again. Now that i have 7k or so on my synthetic its starting to get hot while idling with ac in 105 degree heat so i put a half quart of oil in and now it stoped going above the 210 temp. Just thought i'd add that in there for anyone driving in the south heat.

flush your radiator fluid and add the purple ice by royal purple with water. supposed to drop about 20 degrees. im not sure if it dropped that much but i did it to my mcss and noticed quite a difference. you need about 1.5oz per quart of water and its recommended that you don't use any other coolant with it. only water and purple ice

I took the rubber molding at the back of the engine bay off. Reduced the temps by at least 15 to 20 degrees in traffic.

Did you also notice how much louder the intake noise is with that piece missing?

I have an Intense FWI and the filter is in the fender. I didn't notice any additional noise. I also have the crossover wrapped.

Dont do this in a daily driver, especially in Mo. Purple ice provides no protection against freezing.

could just do like I did and ceramic coat them, read some pretty bad reviews on header wrap, that's why I just spent the xtra money to get them done right the first time

ROFL don't ask you'll wanna kill yourself. lucky for myself the heads were already off since I'm having to rebuild the entire valve train minus cam, other than that I have no clue how the hell these would have come out. So kinda cheated I guess but might as well get it done while I can.

don't even want to think of how the rear header would of came out without removing the head
