First time w/ the Monte at the 1/8 mile Last night my first pass ever w/ the car was my best. 9.12 @ 76.77 with a 2.13 60'. After that my 60' got worse and so did my ET. Although my last pass of the night i ran a 9.18 with getting on the brakes but i still broke out on a 9.22 dial. Had some good reaction times of .510-.540 most of the night. Totally different than racing my blown 71 chevelle. In the monte its like once you take off you have to wait for the rear end to squat down before you start to move. My brothers 2000 GTP ran a best ever of 8.35 with his DR and many mods. One easy mod that worked for him was putting rubber spring spacers in the rear coils to help prevent the squat on launch.

And also, when he put these rubber spacers in the coils, did it lift the booty up a little or did it stay level!!?? cause this could possible be a very intelligent and cheap mod for the rest of us W body monsters!!

All i did was ran to Mufflerman 2 hours prior to race time to get the resonator removed and pulled the driver side headlight out. Everything else is stock. The rubber spring helpers did raise the car but they take less than 2 minutes to install or remove if you jack the car up in the rear to take the weight off the suspension. If i go again this season i might try it. I think they were 2" spring helpers.
