Looking for winter rims and tires for the gxp
Like the title says looking for some cheap winter rims or even steel rims to put some winter tires on them. Was wondering if you can go down to a 17" rim?

17"' does work
See these threads (at the site with the enhanced server time-out search function) of some guys and their 17" wheels. As for 17" steelies, the one poster says he tried 3 kinds before finding a fit.

My winter set is 17x8 rims with 225-55/17 -- this coming winter will be their first use.

17's yes, they do just clear the brakes. I looked for steelies for a little while last year, but gave up and went the same route your looking at through tire rack. 4 wheels, 4 tires, came in just a little under a grand
