Default another problem.....

ok so since about june my car has been making a weird noise. when im going about 25-30 mph and take my foot off the gas it starts to make a rattling sound. I cant really hear it with the windows up but when theyre down and the radios off i can hear it. Ive also had other people drive the car by me and i can hear it clear as day. When i put it in neutral while the rattling is happening it stops which tells me it has something to due with the drivetrain. It went to the dealer in june and they couldnt find anything and i just took it back to the dealer last week and they said they could hear it the 1rst day and not the next so i picked it up and sure as **** still there. So besides the mechanics being dumb as **** does anyone know what this could be. Tranny seems to be fine and was replaced about 10k miles old but im thinkin it might have something to due with that. Any help would be great.

Did you have the torque converter replaced too? I am certainly no expert but it sounds like it is a torque converter. My trans. is messed up too so after Christmas it is being traded in on something else.

Is this DOD related? If so read this whole thread.

If you don't read that thread...do this at least: When the noise starts, drop it into 3rd and see if it goes away. You'll likely find that the diablement of DoD will kill the noise.

no, DOD will only engage if you're in D, and driving between 20-75 mph...

in 1, 2, or 3, the DOD will not kick in...

The dxp doesnt have a 123 selector it has tapshift and the DOD does work in tapshift i believe.

Wonder if it's different for you guys, but my GXP does into DOD in 3rd gear....even when in tapshift mode. Hence why when I have the cut out open I drive around town in 2nd, 3rd with DOD activated has a nasty resonance to it.
