08 impala ss I just purchased a 08 impala ss. Its got the 5.3L V8 and i was just wondering if somebody could help me with some ideas for cheap horsepower. I have been told a air filter and a chip is a good way to go. If anyone could help me that would be great. Thx

A cold air kit K&N or others are available, A catback exhaust, Hogan dowm pipe,
Roller rockers, Program for your CPU, and otheritems are available.

No on the chip. The pcm in it is fully progammable and that alone will net you more power than any of those stupid little chips will (sorry just never been a fan of installing chips). Some other stuff would be, exhaust, and cold air intake, after that I'd say your gonna be getting into more expensive mods.

Take it to a performance shop that specializes in vehicles like vettes and f-bodies. They'll use programs like EFI Live HP Tuners or LS1 Edit to tune the car. Should cost between 200 to 600 depending on the shop and whether they tune it on the dyno or do a street tune. I'd be hesitant to let a shop that does mainly imports touch it.
