Melling High Volume Oil Pump - P/N 10296
This was in my engine that experienced rod bearing failure. Don't believe it was the pumps fault at all (my guess is due to high rpm and low oil in the pan and the pump working too well), but wanted to be forthcoming and make sure all the info is out there. Was only used for ~1500 miles...
Blurb about the pump...
They boast a CNC-machined body and cover, and hardened steel gears that are up to 25 percent longer, providing additional flow to performance engines with wider bearing clearances. Their drive and idler shafts have been extended into the cover to provide additional support, to eliminate dynamic shaft deflection.
Lists for roughly $140 new.
$75 shipped.

Took a look last night...visually it's very clean. Since it can be taken apart, I don't see why a good cleaning would not remove anything significant. Will try to get pictures tonight.
