What about offering some at a discounted rate to get some track testing and abuse?

Could the factory mustang pieces be cut off to save a little weight?

Interested, but, no one has one, so I am not to keen on trying new things. I saw some guys having trouble with the EC 8.8 and I dont want to go into another hell with this car.

The price at this point is what it is. Once they are proven the price is going up. Plus these first three have been sandblasted and painted and that in no way is reflected in the price. Theres a lot of blasting labour there.

As far as new product fears I hear you guys. Someone has to be the first I realize this. Well second if you count me. My intentions are to build a good product and we have done what we can to ensure that is the case.

8.8's are well proven. They stand up to more than the 12-bolt junk and have more gear choices than you could ever install. The only question is the weld integrity, and from my standpoint, having worked with union sheetetal workers for 15 years, those welds are good. You can see that the penetration and material flow is good, and because it's jigged, there is probably little warp and twist.

I used an 8.8 for years in a 5-speed N/A 10.20 car with no issues. If I didn't have a FAB9, this would be my choice. Looks like good work cam, here's a "ttt".

Can you get a soft locker for the 8.8" like you can the 9"?

How does gear whine compare between an 8.8, 12 bolt, and 9"? From what I've heard, 12 bolts are especially bad.

Could we upgrade to Motive/US gears and a solid pinion spacer? I've heard these are the way to go to keep it quiet.

If so on this stuff, how much would it be total, with a soft locker, Motive 4.11 gears, solid crush sleeve, 1350 yoke, girdle, etc.?

Dunno. Wanna try?

To the questions regarding options. There is practically every kind of posi/locker/Torsen etc available for the 8.8 so I could set it up however you want but i have no idea on price for most of that stuff as of yet. For these first three i want to sell them with the motorsport carrier and Ford gears which are the quietest by the way and very strong too. Getting prices on all that other stuff will happen soon but not today. Maybe next week i can free up some time to get prices for all styles of carriers etc. I really wanted to get a website up with all this on it but I am leaning on friends for favours for that so... Besides I want to get these three out there and see how you guys like em before I go any further into development.

umm ok i'm assuming this is in USD?????

why not get one of the fast boys here from ontario to throw your rear into one of their cars and see how it holds up? that would put some fears to rest, just a thought.

Sounds good to me. Who needs a rear in Ontario? I will deliver personally for the cost of gas.

That's a good idea. I bet interest will go up dramatically once it has been tested. If I had the money I'd order one and be the guinea pig, but for now college has priority over my $$$ .

Yeah I would really consider this if I knew it would hold up and not whine loudly.

8.8's are very quiet that much is a given. I'm sure its gonna hold up fine but I am curious to know how deep it will actually drive a car into... Single digits would be nice

I think a test subject that can abuse it would help alot!! Cut them a deal on something....to get the idea out there and to show your work is worth that price tag.
And after looking around, the parts are quality and expensive, just hard to part with that kind of money for an unproven product....

I'll give you $1000 and go to the track and beat on it, I have a 4200 stall and can leave on spray if need be. Full weight 2002 Z28 minus bumper supports and rear seat going high 10's on a 125 shot.

Quieter than a 9 inch? If so, I might want to reconsider my plans (9 inch, soft locker combo).

If you are interested in selling one cheaper like your sale right now, but let me use a soft locker and motive gears, I might consider. Let me know if you would do this, and how much it would be (I know you said you wouldn't know pricing for different options until next week).

Guys need also need to keep in mind just because an 8.8 is unbreakable in a 2900 lb Fox Body, doesn't mean a 3600 lb turd won't break it. Weight of the vehicle makes a BIG difference.

Cam, got any closer pics of your TQ arm mount welds?
