FS: New GM Crate Motor LT4 Complete
LT4 '96 Corvette Production Engine - p/n 12551183
This is an original PRODUCTION LT4 Crate motor from the GM factory. GM produced these engines for the 1996 Corvette’s. Approximately 300 extra production motors were produced to cover problems or warranty claims. SLP took almost 200 of these motors in 1997 for the limited production LT4 SS Camaro’s and Firehawk’s. Out of those approximately 100 motors left, most have been used for conversions or hot rods.
This motor is exactly as it was when it was sitting at the factory waiting to be placed in a brand new Corvette. It is complete down to the spark plugs and spark plug wires. It includes everything from the oil pan to intake manifold with throttle body, fuel rail, fuel injectors, opti-spark distributor, ignition module and coil, spark plugs, and even wires. It also includes 'vette exhaust manifolds, water pump, harmonic balancer, accessory bracket, 'vette flywheel, magnesium bellhousing and clutch, all engine sensors such as knock sensors, temperature sensors, oil psi and temperature sensors, and the throttle position sensor.
For an interesting comparison between the LT1 and the LT4, check out this website. As you can see, there’s a lot that’s different besides just the heads, cam and intake. Don’t be fooled by an LT1 with a few LT4 parts thrown on it. They are different.

This is NOT a motor built by a shop. This is one built by GM at the factory for the assembly line.
SOMEONE'S STEALING IT AT THIS PRICE!!! $5000 + Shipping. Got other things to take care of.....it's going to be a bargain for someone!
Zip code it's shipping from is 87114 for reference. The crate shows 614lbs, but I would round to 650lbs just to be safe on shipping costs.
