It would hold fine as long as you don't crank up boost too much, and keep sufficient fuel to the motor. I would do a compression check if you're worried, it'll give you a good idea how "tired" your motor is/is not.

It does in fact clear the hood. There are alot of c5 owners with milage more than yours putting these on with out problems
