Here is the story. I bought this for my car and HU and my HU is the Alp 9856 and does not have the jack in the back for this feature. If I had spent the extra $150 and got the 9857 then I would be fine...so here it is. No steeringwheel controls for me

FS Pac adapter that works with 98 - 02 F-bodys to make steeringwheel controls work with aftermarket head units. I bought it off Ebay for $45.00 + shipping. It works with Alpine 9857, JVC, and Kenwood HU. It is like this one Will sell for $50.00 shipped.

You can still have steering wheel controls by buying the PAC SWI-X which is a universal version that will work with any head unit that has infrared remote capability.

 

I was hoping to avoid the whole infrared remote version. I am going to have to do it or buy the remote. I will probably buy the remote and decide on the SWI-X controls later. Still need to sell this one though. Anybody interested.
