Those are not 17x11 inch wheels. They are 17x9.5. 275 40 17tire are 11inches wide. You can't put a 275 on an eleven wide wheel the tire won't even seal or create a bead tire would also flatten out. Plus you cannot put a 17x11 on the front without the tires rubbing. YOU CAN put a 17x9.5 on the front.

just photo the back of the wheel. some where on the back the diameter and width is printed 17x11 or 17x9.5. also you measure inside lip to inside lip. from the looks of the pictures i'd say he's right they aren't 17x11. good luck ,and a free bump.
