SLP now offers this aluminum differential cover that improves the durability and appearance of the differential and makes basic maintenance a snap. Produced for SLP by AAM, this new cover is constructed from aircraft quality, cast aluminum. It makes the differential housing stronger, offering a firm "back bone" in place of the stamped sheet metal cover. It also includes special passages, cast in to direct and control the "spray" of oil off the ring gear. These passages pass the oil through special cooling fins on the rear of the cover. The oil is returned to the housing directly over the ring gear carrier bearings. This keeps the fluid up to 80% cooler, increasing durability and reliability immensely. The cover includes a drain plug that allows you to drain the gear oil from the differential without having to remove the cover. Minor modifications to the axle housing are necessary to take advantage of the cooling capabilities of the cover. All hardware and installation instructions are included. This cover is designed to fit GM vehicles equipped with either a 7.5" or 7.625" differential. Call for applications.

Is this what you ran into problems with? Do you know what they mean by the underlined portion?
