Default 1.6 rr and valve covers

I have put 1.6 rr on my lt1, and im having troubles getting my valve covers to fit on. Is there something i can do to my stock valve covers or do i need to buy new ones? and if i need to buy new ones, what are the popular ones you guys are running

You need to clearance the supports on the inside of the valvecover.

yes thats correct both sides must be clearanced.

I love my lt4 vc's with the 1.6 promags... no issues with fitment whatsoever... kinda pricey though...

Does it depend on the brand (Crane vs. CompCams vs. ...) or type (SA vs. NSA) ? My ComCams ProMagnum 1.6 full RR SA fit fine, no mods required.

yea i was gunna say cause i have 1.6 RR's comp cams promag's and they fit just fine without any clearancing.

Yes, I had to do mine.
And it works great as long as you have stock length valvestems and a typical 7.100-7.125 type pushrod.
If you go much further, I found that you run into problems again

Yes it does matter which ones you get as to if the valve covers need to be clearanced or not. I have used the "Gold" SA's on many motors and have had no issues. The promags seem to fine also. And I am not familiar with the Scorpion's fit.

If they are SA, then no clearancing is required!. NSA rockers need valvecover clearancing! Hope this clears things up a bit.
