Default exhaust opinions?

Well the day has come to order my LPP headers for my black 93 trans am. But, for the past few months i have been trying to figure out what i wanted to do for the rest of my exhaust. On one hand I could buy the ory and a GMMG, Magnaflow, or Borla catback and have a sweet setup...or i could choose to build a true duals setup with a x-pipe or h-pipe. If i did the true duals i could either run dumps before the axle or run the pipe over the axle and run some corsa tips. and if i did the dumps before the axle i could build my aluminum rear diffuser that i have thought up.

...im lost as to what i wanna do.

-i would like the extra power from the tru duals but that also comes with a little extra work which im not totally opposed to at all but still.

-I dont know if i can find a shop here locally that would build me an over the axle setup with mandrel bends

-I could just bolt on a stainless catback and forget about it

-the diffuser idea would be seet too

i have three options and possibly more if you guys have any...what would you do?

oh and p.s.
what 02 sensors and extensions do i need for a 93 TA?

i am not really a fan of "true" duals. i dont really think you would see much more power out of it for the time, effort, and extra money put in. you might also loose some ground clearance. granted that they will sound nice and different from most, save the hassle and throw the rest of the money elsewhere.

Funny thing is..One of your options is identical to what I am doing. From what i have heard and know, true duals are great in that they give a little bit more power and you wont have popping and such, but TDs usually weigh more than a catback which kinda makes any power gained not as special.

my GMMG should be in here if a few days(i bought it used from a guy on here), it came without tips since theprevios owner had CME tips and those wont work on my trans am. I am bidding on some COrsa clones and then I will order LPP headers and ORY...same as you. If you get a used GMMG, borla, corsa or what not, this can be done for not too much money. My whole setup is going to be around $1,600 including shipping(GMMG=$550, LPP $550, O2 ext/sensors=??(cz28 may have that info for sizes and cost), corsa tips=$90, spark plugs and wires =$110, stage 8 locking header bolts = I am guessing around $50, Felpro gaskets= I am also guessing $50. A friend is helping me with the install so that will save me big money as long as you have some tools and jackstands/ramps. Otherwise you are looking at $600+ (at least that is what I was quoted on to do the install from a sponsor around here, dont ask me who.) When i do the install sometime in Nevember I will take pics and a vid. message me then and I will report back to you what it is like. I have a 94 BTW. Good luck. -bruce

i have LT's with purple hornie glasspacks welded right to the collectors.its obviously side exit so if you're trying to stay legal with it than this isn't the way to go. haven't seen one person with it yet and let me tell you the sound is comparable to a straight piped harley davidson. if you dont mind being extremely loud than this is the easiest way to go for true duals. maybe lost .5" of ground clearance if that. they tuck nicely

I really enjoy my Magnaflow. I know a few that went true duels w/ a set up like you want and they got sick of how loud it was over time.
