they look like they do what seafoam does. Except you can put seafoam in your oil and get more gunk out...

Anythings possible when it comes to smog testing..they will somehow find a way to screw with you...or at least thats what I have found here in Oregon. I failed my first trip through this year. They failed me because my car was supp to loud. Funny thing is, Magnaflow test and spec out every system to pass California emissions before it leaves the plant. They are more hardcore there about smog then here too.

Welp. Heres the update.

I went out and got the CRC pass fuel treatment and no my CEL is back on...

also I was told my IAT sensor was bad, replaced that since that was the LAST thing to do, andthat didnt fix it either...

Sooo going to get it scanned tomorrow. Question, is the scanmaster worth it? since I have a 95

Ok. I went to AAMCO because they are the only ones that will scan a 95' for free. They said I had the following codes: 23 which is IAT, temp too low... I bought a brand new one yesterday (delphi form NAPA). 48 for the MAF, I think my K&N coulda caused that code, it was dirty. ( so I cleaned that and the MAF) and code 18??? I cant find that in my haynes manual.. but there scanner said it was for an injector... Um brainiac... OBD1 doesnt detect that... thats the update...

So I have a few questions..

Does anybody know the pins for the IAT Connector? mine is a pigtail so both ends are white. Which side on your sensor connector(PCM side) is black? which side is tan?

Also, the SES light only comes on at IDLE... is AAMCO confusing the IAT with the IAC???? I repaired the IAC wiring, and I had the IAC sensor out and IIRC I had to shove it back in..

I just want the SES to go AWAY!!!

Thanks,

-Mark

OBD1 is pretty cut and dry for diagnosing. Usually something has to be completely messed up to set a code. You said you repaired your engine harness because of some frayed wires. I would look further into the wiring for each component that is throwing a code.
Check power and ground to each connector (MAF, injectors, IAT, IAC).

Its NEVER thrown a MAF code until just after I painted it... and since I dont havew a scanner Idk what I fix and what I didnt...

Ok. Im getting pissed.

Went today to test and I get this.

HC: My car: 1.90 Limit: .80
CO: My car: 21.49 Limit: 12.00
NOX: My car 4.11 Limit: 2.00

Failed every single test... AGAIN...

I redid the wiring on my IAT according to shbox's site. Reset the PCM by disconnecting the battery and started it up. NO DTC's at all. Leave to emissions, waiting in line... POP SES light comes and I fail once again...

I need help..

Thanks in advance...

Another update.

I pulled the engine harness out again.

Found that the IAT and the MAF wiring was messed up, but instead of fixed just covered by heat shrink.

So I fixed the MAF waiting on more automotive wire from summit to do the rest of my repairs. I added wiring to I think 5 injectors, the crappy stuff from AutoZone. So Im ordering new MSD Injector Clips and gonna replace all 8 of the Injector clips. Also replacing the MAP plug, ALT plug, IAC plug and the VSS plug with new connectors.

And yes I solder and heat shrink everything. Note the sensors that throw codes are repairs I havent made

So after I make all these repairs and wrap it all up and put it back in the car it should run better and hopefully that stupid SES light will stay off

What is the rating of the fuel injectors that you are running? My 95 LT4 M6 Firehawk was failing miserably too, almost the exact same numbers you had, swapped out the 38# injectors for 26# and it passed with flying colors.
