Exclamation Emissions Help!!!

Ok, I pulled the engine harness out of my 95 and went through it very throughly*sp*? and found quite a few frayed wires and connections. I also fixed the EWP switch and wired that a bit neatly.

So after that and replacing the PCV valve and hose these are my new test results:

My Car: HC: 1.76 Limit: .80
My Car: CO PASS
My Car: NOX: 4.19 Limit: 2.00

Throwing no codes, only thing is the ABS light comes on but thats it, and it only does it at the testing place for some reason. SO what should be my next step??????

Thanks in advance!

Ok a little update.

Exhaust is as follows Pace Setter headers, Cat, and exit before rear tire. I have a cat per bank. The exhaust exits one pipe on each rear tire. Oh and NO EGR

Also I extended the 02's myself from the PCM side and Im using brand new Denso 02's

I lost 2 of the 4 TB bolts so I dont knw if thats causing a leak or not but theres the info. Just trying to help get some info so I can get tags.

Thanks

First off, the ABS light is coming on cause you have the rear wheels moving while the fronts are not.
You need the EGR to pass the NOx test. Do you have a lower degree thermostat??

The EGR is what controls NOx so your kinda screwed since you already have headers without the provisions. You could get the car dyno tuned for strictly best emissions, but that's not a guarantee either.

I say try going with some new cats. Try pypes mini cats, they're $70 each. The used cats you have might not be working right. And the cats do also help cut down on your nox VVV

http://www.bba-reman.com/cats.htm

I'm going to be in the same position as you next August when inspection time comes up. I'm going to be installing LPP LTs.

I'll try dual pypes mini cats after the headers, if I fail the smog test I'll slap on a third behind the y , if I still fail I'll buy an emissions sticker

An exhaust shop can check the cats for you to see if they are in good shape. I wouldn't be spending any $$ there. If you don't have the EGR you are not gonna pass...esp being in Cali.

They have their car tuned...the Hot Cam is pretty much the biggest cam you can throw in and have tuned to pass smog testing. Did you delete the AIR/EGR when you put the headers on? Another idea you can do is, take the driver side header off and have a exhaust shop weld the hook up to pass smog if you didn't already delete the AIR/EGR.

Yup yup this I know..so how do they test you when you go through smog testing? Do they pop the hood and or stick the rod up the exhaust pipe?

Hes in arizona not cali. Did you get inspected when your car was fully warmed up? The first time I got inspected I failed. The guy was cool so he warmed my engine up more (held rpms at about 1500 for a few min) and retested. It passed on the second try...

Also maybe try seafoaming it. Don't know if its true but the can says it'll lower your emissions.

They just have this boot thing that slids over the exit of the exhaust and acts like a vacuum. It sucks the exhaust in. they havent said anything about me not having any of my emission equipment..

But a thought just came... I have a massive exhaust leak.. like you can hear it form 20 to 30 feet away with the car idling. and since theyre machine has a vacuum do you think that the amount of exhaust gas leaking BEFORE the cat is setting me back this minute amount????

Where in AZ are you? My neighbor used those formulas that guarantee you to pass smog and they amazingly worked. This site even has a NOX reducer:

http://passsmog.com/

or this one

I was just curious. That product on Amazon seems to be getting good reviews.
