tune needed with headers??
im looking to buy some longtube headers and y-pipe for my 96 formula. and was wondering does anyone know if you have to get the car retuned before it will run properly once the headers are on? thanks for any input
Its recomended that you get it tuned, espically if you are deleting the AIR and EGR. I drove mine for about a week untuned, and it seemed okay, other than having an SES light.
are you going to be deleting the air and egr? if so then i would go ahead and get a tune. Like i said, i drove mine for about a week waiting for my tune to come in. I didnt really notice and problems other that the car staying in open loop.

Plus you will squeeze out a few more ponies with the tune. The LT4 module takes a few minutes, basically pull the PCM out with 4 bolts, take off the back cover and swap em. But if you're getting tuned the tuner can make your stock module work fine.
Nothing wrong with them, the price is great and great bang for the $
