Flushing Brake system Hey guys,
I've got a 93' firebird formula with 87k miles. the brake fluid is BLACK and has probably never been changed, also the brakes are soft.
what is the best way to flush the brake system? any DIY's?

you know, i saw that at pepboys the other day for 16 bucks.
i don't buy those though. whenver i have a problem, i just go to pepboys (2 blocks from my house), read the page i need, then put it back.

What does it cost to have one of those brake shops flush your system for you? Hell, if its $50 or so, for a FULL FLUSH and not just a check and bleed as needed it might be worth it to skip the hassle, no? Wonder if they can do the clutch as well....

Just get a motive power bleeder...makes life a breeze and you can bleed most GM vehicles and buy adapters to bleed clutches. I just helped a buddy bleed his LS1 brakes, took about 30 minutes, most of that time was used for taking off the wheels. See my C5 brake write up for pics on it.
