Distributor in an LT1, can I just drop the motor?
I need input from the guys that have put in a rear mount distributor.
I have the FAST computer and the OPTI will not work for my RPM level with reliability.
I am going with the FAST Distributor with Optical sensor.
My machinist is going to drill and counterbore an old intake I have for testing and the we drill and CB the 1994 intake. Wish we had a template.
Questions:
1. Do I need to drop the motor mounts to get the distributor "in" or pull the motor.
2. Do I need to cut the firewall to replace the cap. This is not a problem since it is just a drag car. I can fabricate a new firewall in that area.
3. What is the spacer thickness?
Thanks for your input.

I wouldnt buy the FAST distributor. I bought one to use on my XFI setup and it was to tall. I bought an accel DFI distributor with the short cap and modified it to work with the xfi setup. Very easy modification and a lot more room to work with. PM me if you want more details on this.
