is there enough space where you can get in there with a secondary open ended wrench and use it as a cheater bar?

I just got the thing off... finally!! i used a dremel to grind down the flange on the rack and pinion a few millimeters and a socket slipped right in. used an 11mm on a 3/8" drive and didnt even have to use a cheater bar. Thanks for all the help

We never touched the steering linkage when we put my headers in. Pacesetter LT's.

What might be easy for someone else doesn't mean that it works for everyone.. do what you feel you need to do and will work for you..

yea i know... i was just confused why it wouldnt come off easy casue everyone I talke to told me it would take like 5 minutes... but everything else on the car was even easier to take off than people said

Mine needed to come off just to do shorties, always a good idea to get things out of the way no one wants scuffs and scrapes on their brand new headers

yea it looks like that drivers side header will just slip right in there no with it off, but the passenger's side is another story lol but im going to wrap the headers and sides of the eingine bay with tape to prevent scratches

I unbolted both engine mounts and raised the engine high enough to clear both sides and both headers went in from bottom using a lift, but I will say LT1 fbody header install is a nightmare compared to other cars ive done. I love long tube headers on a LT1 though its worth it.

^^^ Where are u guys raising the motor up from? the oil pan with a piece of wood for support?
