Just make sure that you trace them good and make sure you find the other end, and clean up the other end with some Electrical Tape if it came off of a splice.

I've been, "working" on my 93 harness for a long time now. I've cut a ton of stuff out of it so far. This all came from the body harness and there's actually a lot more in there now. This is an old picture:

The best thing to do is know what each plug is and follow the wires to see where they go. Alldata helped me out some, but mostly confused me.

^^What is that silver Box for?

Yea, be careful when trimming wires.when I was doing the trimming for my T56 Swap, I cut one of the wires that goes to the Backlight Circuit for the Gauges..lol I had to fix it..

Check to make sure you can find the other end of the Wire, then check it with the Key on to see if it's got power and also if it powers up with the lights too.

It's the silver box on top of the wires in the picture I posted. It has a bunch of yellow / blue wires and tape running to it.

Found this picture in my 93 thread:

I really don't. I've been wondering what that thing is for a while also. It is mounted horizontally in the car.

Here's another helpful one:

^ That's good to know. I'm going to huck that thing in the trash then. What do the correlating wires go into? Can they be trimmed out or are they super integrated into other things?

Mine are all trimmed out. Most of them go into the fuse box in the engine bay. I cut them all out when I relocated every wire in the engine bay...

My ABS computer (horizontally mounted under the driver side of the dash) looked like this on my 1995:

Yup, rule of thumb is anything with the yellow plug is SRS (airbag system) related as GM coded them this way to differentiate them.

Yep, that's the one. I need to go grab mine from out of my car so I can see what plug connects to it. Did you trim out all of the convenience center crap?

It's called the, "convenience center". The round metal one is the hazard flasher, brown box is the audio alarm module, and the square one is the horn relay. I started tracing some of the wires to see where they go. One of the small yellow wires in the audio alarm module (brown box) goes into the spoiler brake light that I had previously detached and subsequently reattached. The few other wires I traced were ones that are the ones that are a bunch of wires of the same color taped together like so:

Black ones.

I really need to know if I can get rid of all of that stuff. I don't have horns in my car, don't want an alarm, and would like to get rid of it. Does any of it have random connections like the power seat and the rear defroster or can I just start clipping? What about the brake light? I noticed it Ys into another yellow wire that heads back to the brake light. I think that's just for the alarm, but I'm not sure.
That's from my thread, but pretty much covers my question. I want to get rid off all of that crap. The problem is I want to keep my AC, PS, but everything else can go. I still need to figure out which plug is the radio on my car and remove all of that crap.
