I thought I recognized your username from QCAAF. If you're looking to bump the compression a little, I've got some LT4 rods and pistons that just might do the trick.

You can run straight 93 with 11:1 cr and a hotcam. A blend of 93 and 110 would be pointless and actually hurt performance.

Alright, wasnt too sure on that so i figured i'd ask, would you always suggest 93? most gas stations around here are only up to 91.

You could run straight 91 too. 11:1 cr really isn't that much even with just a hotcam. It's mostly in the tune.

Alright well i figure i might as well go with either the impala or mr gasket ones to step it up a bit while i got it out, and talk to Shon for herronperformance.com about tunning for the slight jump

Valve springs should be here next week, gotta look into finding a hot cam, i have found a couple just trying to find the lowest mile cheapest one i can. So anyone have one shoot me a PM. I should be within a few weeks gettin the heads checked then pickin up the ARP head bolt and whatever gaskets i go with and get the heads back on. from there i still gotta take the WP opti and all that off the front so i can slide the cam in.

Still gotta get some 1.6 rockers, the rest of the gaskets, and order my headers from herronperformance.com and also send Shon my computer to get her tuned up then will have to take it to the dyno after i get it all buttoned back up.

Has anyone ran 1.7 rockers with the hot cam? would it work or even be worth it? 1.7's give the stock cam more lift so would it do the same for the hot cam? would the powerband move up or stay around 6100rpm max? that is why i'm going with the hot cam (stock bottom end and dont wanna wrap her out to 6300-6400)

I think it's funny how many people dog the hot cam kit when really the cam is not much smaller then the "almighty" cc305. I think most people dog it cause the valve springs, but GM would NOT produce a kit that wouldnt work together, YES I KNOW IF I EVER GO BIGGER I WILL NEED NEW VALVE SPRINGS!! I KNOW THIS!! So please anyone coming in my thread complainin about the hot cam.............

I will try to take me pics as i do more to the car. I'm in the process of ordering stuff for the cam swap but wont be ordering gaskets til around xmas (Gettin big summit giftcard from the girlfriend). So most of the work will take place after then cause i'm also hoping to get the headers for xmas also.

Good luck with the build! Nothing will make you mod a car faster than having it break, lol.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the hotcam. It provides solid gains and works well with nitrous or boost down the road. It's one of my top choices when I put a cam in my 94 Z28.

Thanks! I think i'll be able to see damn good gains with what i'm puttin in, and eventually going to put 4.10's in so i think 11's are in my near future. Thanks for not putting down the hotcam, glad you have had good luck with it!

They should be fine and I always run 93 otc.
These are the specific gaskets Lloyd Elliot told me to use.
I know about cast iron heads and alumium heads never heard of steel heads??
I think they mean they were meant of impala's and caprices But will do just fine an a F-body.

Do you mean the 503? I have the 305 and it's about at or below par with the hotcam.
