i do it till the fan turns on then shuts off, not sure how you would notice the thermostat opening and the car could have a 160 degree tstat which would not be hot enough using your method.

When the Tstat opens, your coolant temp gauge will suddenly drop 10-20*
form the rush of fresh (and colder) fluid flowing by the sensor.
The idea being to let coolant start flowing so you can displace air pockets.

You can wait for the fans to turn on, assuming the PCM is configured to turn then on at a high enough temp. The end result would be the same.

Okay guys so i went under the car after i drove it around for 10 minutes, got it fully up to 220 degrees and then the fan came on and it went back down to 160.

put it on the ramps, NO leaking. what the hell man. no leaks? it was WAY up to tempature. why is it not leaking now? It was draining like crazy last night. I opened the radiator cap and there was fluid right there on the top.

I took these pictures...

it looks like it might be coming from this thing attached to the radiator with a wire on it?( where my finger is pointing)

Also are these wires aftermarket?

and what is that new shiney metal object behind these pulleys?

the shiny object is the belt tentioner.... not sure what you were pointing at that you thought was leaking.

most of the people iv seen have a rad start leaking all of the sudden have had another problem that caused the rad to start leaking....This other problem I speak of is a blown head gasket. The compression leaks out of the cylinder and into the waterjakets, therefore pressurizing them much more than they are designed to handle... the excess pressure blows out the weakest part of the cooling system,( the plastic housing of the radiator).
The easiest way to eliminate this as a possability, is to have a friend or relative rev your engine as you monitor the engine bay... You will notice the antifreeze shooting out of the radiator as the engine revs. If you do not see any squirting coolant, then this is not your problem.

hey guys. how do you get to the coolant resevior tank? It looks like its under the battery. I cant think of anything else that would be leaking besides that. I filled it up today and drove the **** out of it and still get it to leak. i have no idea whats going on. so im just driving it locally but im afraid to take it anywhere else if it starts leaking again far away from home ill be screwed.

well i drove it for two months after i bought it with zero leaks, then the other day after work there was a decent (2x2foot) size puddle under the car. then i got home and it was dripping still. now i filled it up with maybe two liters and it isn't leaking at all even after a few trips to redline.

Very strange! Maybe the t stat got stuck closed for some reason and it puked some out.
I would replace the t-stat and bleed the coolant maybe even flush the sysyem. And then keep a close eye on it

Drain it at the bottom, disconnect everything, and switch it out. That is the same spot mine cracked.

Does the AC condenser have to come out too? It looks like they're attached with clips. Should i be draining the coolant from the block too? or just the radiator?

Open the drain in the Radiator, then everything that needs to will drain out.

The AC Condensor just sits in grooves on the Radiator, you can pick it up out of the grooves and keep it away, and pull the Radiator out.
