First mod to virgin engine :D
The one you have looks like it would have no fitment issues, but I think you could have gotten almost the same thing by just taking off the stock air box and clamping on a filter (that's how my car was when I bought it). Like this:

The piping you have looks a little less restrictive. But you could have just spent $20 on a filter and called it a day.
But hell, for $40 that thing looks REALLY GOOD and if it does what it needs to do - great buy.

I completely forgot about the opti vent for the newer lt1s.
Just buy used ones. They are in the for sale section ALL THE TIME, and because of the they go cheap. I picked up a Moroso with a filter and they were both in GREAT shape for $75 shipped. I've seen K&N kits go for $40.

One way to tell your filter to intake parts are dirty is that the car will take longer to start then with clean parts.
that is what i have as far as intake. and if you take a good look at it, you can see how much more volume could flow through there than the reducer than makes your intake diameter practically smaller than the MAF houseing.
