I would have never figured it would be so much with a 3"cat back but it is!!!!!!
A borla wide open bypasses the muffler for the most part. so they flow pretty great.

did you have the plates in or out? if there are no plates then its basically a cutout right before the muffler.

if they are in then the muffler isn't as restrictive because its a straight through type design, single in and single out. the ones that are more restrictive are the crossflow type, your magnaflows, flowmasters, ect that have 1 in and 2 outs that are on oposite ends of the muffler.

Im really surprised from reading this thread that a cutout can do as much as some of your numbers prove, i've always thought it was basically for sound. Do you guys think it will give much of a gain on a close to stock car with a full aftermarket exhaust with LT's?

I have an e-cut out.
Also I have an older Borla adj. catback. Got it in 1997. One in and two out.

where is the best location for a cut out?
do i mark the exhaust from the header collector back with chalk marker and where it doesnt burn off i put the cut out?
or is there a sweet spot the lt1's like?
