Default Broke sypder plate, which lifters?

Well had just got my car done and was driving it trying to break in my engine. But it started to misfire and started clicking, i thought one of my rockers was loose but they were fine. Removed the intake and found that my "spyder Plate" was broken on two cylinders so i spun 4 lifters and ruined my cam. Now my question Is there a better type of lifter or something else to do away with the spyder plate? What would ya'll suggest?

you could get a stock one from SUMMIT or you could get aftermarket roller lifters that hold themselves straight. THIS is just an example

GM sells the spider at the stealership Think it is 70 something.
I had the same thing happen just put the new one in and ran it with some LS7 lifters. Too bad we can't run LS1 style lifters and retainers.

Only way to do away with the spider is to get link bars. Other than that just get a new spider and keep on racing. I do find it weird thought that the spider broke, there isn't any load on it, all it does is hold the retainers down. What all is broken? Did something else break first and cause the spider to break?

not sure in the OPs case but in mine it just looks like fatigue of the arm. it was bent up a bit causing minimal pressure on the dogbone. then the lifter spun in its bore bc the dogbone wasnt able to hold it straight. i was turning around 7k rpm pretty regularly though.
