Default Pro mags and valve covers

What do most do to get the poly locks to clear. We cut the cross bracing out but I think the covers are flexing and causing a leak on the passenger side.

For both sets of valve covers I've ran with those Rocker's I just grinded down around the I supports a good amount and they worked fine. I cut the one side of the bracing out on my stock valve covers and it didn't make them flex at all. If you cut both sides out I could see that but you don't need to cut both sides out.

I just ground down the supports also, I don't think I had cut anything out of them. Not knowing I didn't have to do it I ground down on the inside of the tops of them too.

Could someone please post pics of where the stock valve covers need to be cut and/or ground? I am currently in the middle of a build with exactly that scenario - stock covers with Compcams Promagnum SA 1.6 rockers.
Thanks in advance.

Wow. Wish I had taken pics of mine when I had them off, I don't have anything like that cut out. I had just ground down both sides of the supports flat.

I just bent the bottom of the supports to make them straight up and down.

I was under the assumption that compcams 1.6 roller rockers fit under the valve covers with no issues, am I wrong??

I went aftermarket. There shiiiiinnnnyyy

You could just pick of a cheapo set on ebay. As long as they have the correct bolt pattern and a gasket retention area, your good to go.

So the NSA's are larger than the SA's then?

Would they perhaps be wider? I just went out to the garage and slip fit the stock covers on the head, it went on fine with no gasket for height clearance. I have SAs. Would that be an indication that I am O.K.? The engine is upside down because I am working on the $*&%* Canton oil pan, so I did not try rotating the crank to see if anything hit during rotation.

Correct, My Comp Cams SA's fit fine with zero cutting to the valve covers but not my Comp Cams NSA's which are taller and wider.
