So let me start by asking what you are trying to accomplish with your set up? Goals? Daily driver? Need to pass emissions? What do you have done so far mod wise?

Yeah Michael, that's the cam I'm running... Check out my sig for the mods... While I've rebuilt the motor, I retained all of the stock bottom end and heads; I had a complete 3 angle valve job erformed on the heads and changed the rockers to Comps Magnum 1.6 Rollers. I also added a 2500 12" stall and will at some point change that out for a 3600 9" stall.
I ended up with that cam based upon the recommendation of the Comp Cam tech dept. where I had asked them to give me a cam which will give me 50 additional HP without upgrading the heads. They said it would need full exhaust, which I have in spades, along with a tune, which I got form PCM -For-Less.

The car runs like a rape ape. With all of that listed in the sig, I picked up well over a full second ET in the 1/8th. Pre-rebuild I was in the mid to low 9s on 20" steel rims with Falken radials. Adding a new set of MT ET Streets, she pulled an 8.03 last Friday night. It was one of those nights at the track where it seemed like every ricer was spraying hard and blowin' their motor, so I only got 8 or so passes. I expect to see her into the high 7s tomorrow night.

So yeah, I'd recommend it on a stock engine, given the above noted mods...

I would look into the cams Lloyd Elliott offers on his site. He cam also get you a good running valve spring etc etc as well.

Really?? I have never had that issue w/ him. He even called me on a Sunday and we chatted for 30 min or so...lol

Have not had it on the dyno yet. I should be in the 385-400 range w/ open cut out.

Global warming

I haven't seen any price changes on his site and I've been on there many of times over the past several months. Far as I know they are still the same and for the money you can't go wrong.

i'm 99% sure that le1's were 800 heads, 1100 heads-n-cam
le2's were 1150 heads, 1450 heads-n-cam
le3's were 1450 heads, 1750 heads-n-cam
i used to have the prices saved somewhere...
intake porting did remain the same...

i know they definently went up... could be because of rarety

I'm pretty sure they went down actually. I bought my LE2 heads/cam last may for $1750 and they are now $1650. They went down because instead of Lloyd having Bret Bauer do the camshafts he's using Bullety/Ultradyne I believe which costs less for him hence why the packages are $100 cheaper.

When I was running this cam with a stock lower end with BBK headers, mildly ported heads with beehive springs and 1.6 RR tuned by PCM for less, it dynoed 365rwhp and 345rwtq ran great for 3 yrs till I spun a bearing because of low oil from a leak during HPDS

Now it's on my 383 stroker and making good power (sorry no dyno yet) but I may go with this next
Comp Cams #249-07-467-8
# "XFI" 280 Hydraulic Roller CamshaftGM LT1 & LT4 350ci 1993-96
Lift: .576"/.570" w/1.6 Rockers
Duration: 280°/288°
RPM Range: 2000-6000
