Get some cleaning oil for your filter if it needs it and even if it doesn't.

GO with LPP headers and ORY; there is a video on youtube of a LPP/magnaflow trans am lt1. Only $500 on ebay to get the ORY(catless y-pipe) and headers shipped to your door. Don't forget stage 8 or ARP bolts, 02 sensors and extensions, new plugs and wires, and better gaskets

I have heard good things about both B&M and Pro 5.0 shifters(notchier and shortest throw).

If you have the cash, save, up for a 9" rearend and do the gears with it at the same time and save some money because you will need a new rear one day if you launch hard or add enough power.

Don't know much about it, but a lot of guys love the ls1 driveshaft mod and ls1 brakes. They aren't that expensive and not too hard, in fact some say they are easy mods.

I have heard the best things about BBK throttle bodies and why not upgrade to a 58mm for better flow? You will need a bigger one to match any future mods you do anyways. Look into a lloyd elliot ported intake mani for $200 + shipping to match your TB.

Clutch stages are sometimes crap...be careful and research it. some companies just throw a number in front of a clutch to make it sound good like Spec 96 MEGA CLUTCH!!

Mail order tune. Cant forget this. research. usually start around $125

YOu would probably be in the 290-310 rwhp, but I am no numbers expert...I would think that would put you into the low 13s and maybe 12s on slicks/drag radials....but again, I am not expert.

Good luck and Happy Holidays.
I picked the Pasecetters because they were cheap and I never had any issues with them on my Camaro but I'm willing to try another brand. I think I'm going to stick with the stock rear end because I don't think the car will ever see D/R's or hard launches. I've been looking around at mail order tunes. Anyone tried Trifecta Tuning? Thanks for the advice.

PCM for less and there is another brand too that is very poular...Camaro something....I cant remember. THe stock rear can break on stock power and I just figure it is better to sell the 10 bolt while it works and get a little chingching than have an almost useless one when it breaks. I just graduated high school so I know how the budget is. I just bought LPPS and they look great. Here are the two vids with lpp and magnaflow...I think they are different cars.

anybody know if the prices on the UMI site have already had the 20% deducted or is it the listed prices minus 20% still/more. THanks. To the OP(what does OP even stand for? I say it, but I have no idea...) I would defintiely research doing anything permanent to the MAF before acting on it...THe stock TB should be just fine, and you would probably only see minimal gains from a larger one.

I'd say skip the things in bold, you really don't need them. As far as the clutch goes, I'd go with something stronger than a Stage 1. Ram Powergrip's hold alot of power and are priced great.

I don't see too much that will add alot of HP except for the headers, so you'll probably be in the 280-290 HP range after a tune.

Good luck with the build.

To give you an idea, my old setup made 299 rwhp.

Mods were...

Moroso CAI
52 mm Throttle body
Air Foil
1.6 Roller Rockers
Pacesetter Long Tubes
ORY
Magnaflow Cat-back
MSD 6-AL
Delco Opti
MSD 8.5 Wires
NGK Plugs
New Delco ICM
ECM Tune by Ion at Madtuner
LT-4 Knock module
Racetronix 255 LPH Fuel pump and harness kit
30 #/Hr SVO Injectors
New Fuel filter

Dyno tuning by Jeremy Formato netted another 10 hp but made an unbelievable difference in driveability.

Pacesetter Longtube Headers
Eibach Lowering Springs - lowering springs without sufficient shocks = bad
Grantelli Intake Elbow - stick to stock or 1LE and save this to one of your last mods
B&M Ripper Short Throw-$160 I like my factory hurst with a short stick better than a pro 5.0 so you can save some $$ there
Motive 4.10 Gears - good
Fast Toys Ported MAF Ends - stock or stock descreended at the most
Edlebrock 52MM Throttle Body If you get a new TB go 58mm for future mods
Hypertech 160 Degree Thermostat good
MAC Subframe Connectors save this for one of the last mods
Spec Stage 1 Clutch - Wont handle future mods
What kind of horsepower would I be looking at and what kind of 1/4 times? The car has a K&N CAI and Magnaflow Catback on it right now. Also can I use the stock Y pipe with the long tubes or do I need a new one?
Edit- Pascetter Off Road Y Pipe

160 stat is going to need a tune or else your car will probably overheat.

Honestly, if your on a budget. Just go with pacesetters. Everyone has them and i have heard of very few complaints.

Dont waste your money on the TB until you atleast have a cam.

I ran a 160 for sometime before I got a tune and never had any overheating issues. Stayed at 165-170 and never went up.

I ran a 160 on my last LT1 with no tune and no problem. This car will most likely receive a dyno tune though.

I have heard some poositive things about pacesetters, but also some things totally opposite..The price gap is not a big difference and I think we can all agree that 321 will last a car's lifetime 5 times over.

I have stock manifolds so I am hoping for a nice gain + I am adding my GMMG. THey were beatiful, but did not come with any gaskets...I am trying to work that out with Carl. Still have to get Stage 8 locking header bolts, ane 02 extensions(what sizes did you need?), OTVC wires and plugs, soon I will prob ned new o2 sensors and I may get new gaskets too..It is never just that one part, ya know, always gotta get a dozen more corresponding parts

It is no big deal.

hmmm. I had always heard of people having overheating problems when they installed 160 degree stats without a tune. on't have any firsthand experience though cuz i never tried it without a tune.

As far as the headers are concerned. Hookers are supposed to be of better quality than PS, but mine were a pain in the *** to install. Ive heard of most peoples PS's sliding right in from the bottom. Hookers, not so much.

But what do i know anyways

Never heard that myself. Know another guy who hasn't had any issues either.
