Default 30# injectors, stock pump

i have a high rpm miss. i have the cam in my sig with a new acdelco opti. it has a base tune on it for the 30# injectors but thats it.

im not sure exactly what my tuner did while he was in there but long story short i had a bad opti and couldnt fully tune the car. the rev limiter is disabled and skip shift is disabled. those are the only things i know for sure have been done. i have tryed putting a few different stock replacement pumps in and it helped for like a day but that was about it.

it only happens under WOT. if i lift my foot off just a little it wont do it at all. it happens from about 5500-6500. the car has the stock fuel pump and wiring with brand new new style red top injectors, new acdelco fuel filter, it had a delfi pump in it and i replaced it with an airtex under warrenty.

im short on cash and want to get the car retuned and i want to know if a pump or hot wire kit is necessary. anyone have any experience with this?

The pump should be fine but to check it you could hookup a fuel pressure gauge and tape it to the windsheild, just be very careful to make sure there are no leaks and it is secure.

If the pressure stays steady then the pump is fine.

Well if the pressure is dropping then it is fuel delivery issue. Do you have GOOD electrical supply to the pump? This is why many of us use the Racetronix parts the wiring upgrade is very nice.

Fuel filter is quality and new?

All grounds good?

well i can tell you it was working perfectly fine before the cam and injectors yea fuel filter is brand new acdelco. i was about to go out and make a ground strap just for ***** and grins to see if it helps. the problem is kinda intermittent tho. every once in a while i can run it from a dead stop into 5th and it will run fine. other times it will barely gain any speed up top. it seems to run better with a full tank. im not really sure how that makes sense but thats what it does

well if problem was AFTER you installed the cam and fuel injectors it could be ur injectors....r u sure they are 30's and are they used...they might need a reconditioning..
r all the hoses connected at the pump????and the charcoal canister...are there any pinched rubber hoses after the pump or did you or could u have cut the hose in the pump accidentally......definately a fuel issue

i bought them from a guy on here but they wer in the original box. SVO red tops, the new design all the hoses are connected. but i got under the car to check all the canister i pulled on the bigger one an heard a hissing sound but idk where that line goes it looks like it goes to the top of the tank but i can find the other end. (i have the panel above the tank cut open to make this stuff easier)

well there is a hose that is on the very top of the fuel tank that will need to be connected it basically wraps around to the charcoal canister and you have 2 other lines which are the stock gm plastic hard lines.......if that has a purge leak at the top of the tank i have seen 2 cars personally that never set a a po440 code...but did miss like hell on top end..
