94 LT1 runs for a few seconds then dies, help!
The water pump was leaking so we got it in the garage and jacked up to find out where at. We started it up on the jacks and it started and ran fine for a few seconds then it died. We found out it was leaking at the input shaft of the pump. We just finished putting a new pump on, and it still does the same thing on start up. It starts and runs smooth for a few seconds then it dies. Thought maybe the cap and rotor got wet from the leaking pump? We're hoping thats not the case, but really don't know where to begin. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Thanks

Someone on another board suggested unplugging the maf and see if it runs. We went out, did not try to start the car, unplugged the maf and the car started and ran fine. Plugged the maf back in and restarted the car and still ran fine. Still not sure if it is related. We have a ses light on now but should just be from running the car with the maf disconnected. We will get it scanned tomorrow and see what we find.

It would die every time. But like 1st TA (dad) said, someone on another board suggested the whole MAF thing, and we tried it and it worked. Much better than having to replace the opti! Thanks for the ideas though guys, appreciate it.
