So anyways all I'm replacing is the rubber an metal piece not the whole thing you know just the piece that the long bolts go through. Do istill have to drill the rivets out or whatever you guys are talking about, cause im kind of lost
If you are talking about something that looks like this:

Then yes, that is just the inside piece. It should be encapsulated inside two metal brackets riveted together. You have to drill out the rivets to remove and replace the mounts.

Yes. What I did was drill out the rivets, starting with a small size and working up, but once I got close to the size of the hole, I just hammered a chisel and broke the rivets to save some time.

I wanted one, but chains and a leveler will work just fine as well.

Im sure there is a write up somewhere out there about doing this just search around a little. When I did mine I had the top end of the engine disassembled and it didn't make a difference most every thing had to be accessed from under the car. The rivets were annoying as hell especially since I didn't have a vice. The job is pretty self explainitory but it is aggravating at times.

BEFORE you do this, please listen to my post, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT put the junk energy suspension autozone urethane mounts in, I went through hell with this last winter. they are not thick enough and dont clamp tightly enough when you get them in the clamshells, they are worse than stock, I am dead serious, buy PROTHANE polyurethane's from jegs/ summit. don't make the same mistake i did

energy suspension mounts do not work. prothane all the way.

I just installed a set of the Prothane mounts and they fit inside perfectly.. most work is getting the rivits ground down carefully so it doesn't look like crap, my one side mount was crushed down at least 1/2" from where it should have been and this is at semi stock power levels with 75K

I had to shave some of the mount off on the prothane to get it to fit in the clamshell but they'll work well.

They just get old, you can see them sagging or corroded. Maybe excessive engine vibration too.
