Question on Interior Gutting Finally decided on gutting the interior on my car, 94 Z28 M6, but before I go totally whiskey tango on it, does anybody have a solid suggestion as to the easiest way of getting rid of that foam-like substance that's on the roof in between the t-tops?
Not quite sure I know what you're talking about... You say you don't want to go crazy, so I'd suggest just stopping before you go and take out the headliner, it weighs about 1.5 pounds, and if you start there, well then you might as well gut 'er out completely. The thing I'm doing in my car is just taking out everything behind the scenes, but leaving the panels/carpet, or "skin" so to speak. If you just start taking stuff out, you'll learn how to drop some pounds w/o changing the look. The thing i regretted w/my '93 was that i completely gutted it and got rid of the panels, I'd recommend keeping until the day you decide to sell or put it back. I have as much exp. as anyone gutting stuff out of these cars, let me know if you need any more advice. Oh, and one more thing, if you start peeling off the sound deadening on the underside of your carpet, you'll probably make a few bucks too, lol. Gobs of change always has a way of finding it's way under the seats, and between the center console and carpet.
