Is it the Opti once again?
Summit brand...I bought a JEGS brand opti once (in my uneducated days), felt like it was running well, but it failed after two weeks, just died on the freeway. Replaced it with a oem AC Delco (Delphi is the same) and it worked better than before.
Mine has 74,000, and I'm wondering if I should invest in a new one when I put my new heads on. (I've never had any issues with it)
If you are there, I would replace it, I always hated doing the job twice!!

Don't fix what ain't broke. I believe most people swap out an Opti because they think the design sucks (although how a rotor/cap based distributor running hundreds of thousands of miles without a cap or rotor change is a bad design, I don't get.) I would look at wires first and second before touching the Opti

If you have the money, I would buy a genuine AC Delco or Delphi opti to keep in storage until you need it. You can get one from "thepartsladi" on Ebay (research them, you'll find it's legit) for ~$255 plus shipping.
