Camaro wise I don't know if it is the same for Pontiac but the Purple colors were
93-94 Purple Pearl Metallic.
95-96 Dark Purple Metallic.
97-98 Bright Purple Metallic.

I worked with a guy in Abq. that part of the time drove his Dad's 97 purple Formula (same colour as 98.) Paint was peeling off a bumper cover or two.

There's a 96 purple t/a for sale in my hometown right now actually. They want way too much for it, but that's neither here nor there. I personally had the chance to buy a 6 speed 96 Z28 a few years back that was also purple. Kinda unhappy i didn't jump on that b/c it would be quite useful for shock value alone. Plus, how fun would it be to have a 500 hp stroker and whip everything out there in a purple car.

Some chick in HFB used to have a purple 95 or 96 Trans Am. I doubt your old car was a 1LE, I have never heard a 1LE LT1 Trans Am. But this thread reminds me of:

Yeah well Barney is a shitty *** purple lol. Not all purples are equal apparently. I'm really surprised that 1LE could not have been an option on a 95 Lt1 T/A. Especially when I compared the handling and ride (just how low it sat alone) to my current one. Guess it could have been modified. It had no t-tops, and had a pretty basic options package too. Maybe you're right.

I didn't have t-tops, drag radials, or ram air, but that's the color. Hot color it is. Nice ride man.

Besides Black and pewter, this color has got to be my favorite. Because it is unique and less common than black and pewter, it gets the edge in my books. Just the head turns and shock value alone in the McDonalds drive through are worth it lol. Thanks again.
