well i have been looking at the afr 210's quite a bit today, I like that i dont have to run any special parts to make them work since all my normal lt1 stuff will work. Im really interested in the whole off the shelf idea since i can still startup my car and drive it until i source all the parts for my build---->almost no down time is a good thing

VS the 270-290 max you see from stock castings.
Dart now offers 180, 200 and 210cc versions off-the-shelf.

They have a very nice valve job and a well-designed chamber.
I wish they'd find a way to move those pushrods and eliminate the bottleneck.

where do you find the dart heads? I would like to look into those. Also what cc chamber do they have. Looking to lower compression with my setup.

Last Feb. we had two different engines from Ellwein on the dyno. One was a 12.X:1 383 with as-cast dart 190cc heads & the other had a little less compression and more cam, but had our 215cc cnc'd TFS head. Both had the same piston & ring package. There was a 9Xhp/25% output difference between the two engines on 93 octane. While some of that is attributable to the cam difference, it would still only be ~30hp.

If you must purchase heads now, most any of them (darts, tfs, afrs) will be an improvement over stock. Our cnc'd 200cc head with a HR is something that has a proven history of achieving what you have asked for & would be our recommendation for most 350-355cid guys. Something like the 21deg TFS' we're working with would be nice, but they are not available yet. Perhaps late Feb - mid March.

420-450rwhp is not asking for the world, but you might want to look at the other side of gaining peak numbers. That is, what are you going to give up if you use a 220cc head to see that peak number vs. a 200cc head. There will be a discernable performance difference, both SOTP and quantifiable on a dyno or at the track. On line there are a great many "hoping" for numbers. Fortunately, this is an industry where hope isn't necessary. If you spend your money wisely and emulate those who have already achieved your goals you should also manage to get there. Cylinder head work is primarily machine time and hours. No matter how much you hope you will never receive what you don't pay for . If you can wait and spend money on something closer to ideal and/or higher quality for your application then you will have saved in the long-term.

Im more than happy with my stock ported heads! My numbers are what you want out of your car. Look at Larry's(LS1 Speed) car hes running 10s NA on LEs stock ported heads.
Cant go wrong with LE or AI.

I could be wrong, but Larry is running a LE cam, not LE heads. They are ported stockers though. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
And by the way, my heads will be going back to Lloyd for some more work, and SpeedInc. will be doing the work, as usual. Damn, I love that shop.

You can order direct from Dart or from Summitracing. (I got mine from
Summit, along with the valavetrain components Lloyd suggested, and installed for me)

As-cast chambers are 58cc, I had mine milled to 56cc to acheive the desired geometry.
