Default spark plug gap

i already used the search and all i could find was TR-55 gaps or TR-6 gaps for nitrous. im running TR-6's with no nitrous. cam only with 30# injectors. should i switchback to TR-55s? im trying to track down a high rpm, high load miss and im running out of ideas

I don't know if you necessarily need to swap plugs, but the only recommendations that I have seen for TR6's is for nitrous or blown applications. What do you have them gapped to currently?

What is your fuel pressure at when you are having your high rpm miss? (maybe a faulty regulator and not pump)
Any codes? (misfire is cylinder specific or not)

TR55s are for non-nitrous, non-boosted applications (which you should use). Gap them at .05". I am using TR55s and have had nothing but good experiences.

TR6s are one heat range colder and intended for nitrous/boost. They are to be gapped at .03". If you have TR6s gapped at .05", then that can easily be the cause of your miss.

well the regulator is new acdelco, acdelco filter, racetronix pump w/ hotwire kit, red top injectors, new gm fuel lines. it does need a retune but my tuner assured me that a tune should not cause this problem. i have a little money on me. i might just go buy some tr-55s

Cool, let me know how that goes. I have also heard of a bad coil causing a high rpm miss, just something to look into if your plugs aren't the culprit.

I have TR6s at the stock gap and mine runs fine. I also had an MSD coil leave me on the side of the road! Luckily I had a stock one with me.

well i pulled my tr-6s out and they wer gaped at .055. i put in the tr-55s gaped at .044 its still missing but not as much. i think its because one of the plugs isnt quite all the way in. its really hard to turn and every time i pull the plug out, the threads are dirty. im gonna try to clean up the threads in the head and see if that helps anything

Your TR6s were at .055?! I think mine were in the mid 30s out of the box.

also i cleaned it up, its all the way in now. it has so much more power than it did b4 but that miss is still there. just barely tho. im thinking its either coil or spark plug wires. like i said its an msd coil and shity, house brand plug wires from orielly

Cool. I'm surprised you couldn't hear compression escaping if it picked up power because of the plug being too far out!

spark plug wires, invest in a good set, some delcos, msds or taylors!
