Stock bores are 52mm not 54mm.
With that said its pretty stupid to open them up with the intake on the car considering how easy it is to pull it off. All it takes is a couple shavings to get past the rags to trash your shortblock, and I really don't think saving 30 minutes of work is worth the risk. Not to mention you can do a much better job with it off the car.
Hell I had an intake ported a couple years ago by a popular head porter and it was still full of aluminum shavings. If I didn't check it I wouldn't still be running a stock shortblock.

Please back this statement up with some facts, like how does this happen when there isn't anything being changed FUEL WISE with a TB swap??? if you did some tuning you might end up moving your TQ curve I guess but seriously dude its not a carb....

Yea I ported 2 upper TPI plenums, both I did siamesed TB bore but I used air and it still was time consuming heh
Wonder why no one does siamese intake 'runners' on the LT1 manifold like people did on the TPI base :\ Meh dumb idea, just thinking aloud lol

If your car is still a 350 there is no need for a 58mm tb. a 52 is just fine for stock cubes.
If you do decide to port the intake please take it off or just trash a motor for 20 mins worth of work.
the floor of the intake is acually lower than the heads so gasket matching just makes the angle too miuch.

read the bfranker page and it tells about the 58mm on a stock motor. it does help
