Default Cap and rotor question

is there any difference between a 93-95 cap and rotor compared to a 96-97 cap and rotor?

93-94 are the same and 95-97 are the same. The early ones are not vented.

in theory, could someone use a 95-97 cap, plug the holes in the bottom of the opti, and make a ghetto vented opti?

Maybe, but I doubt it. Just get the MSD if you want one with pre-made line fittings. I'd find a spot you can drill a hole at and glue in a plastic vacuum barb. Alone with siliconing the bottom of the cap to extra insurance.

Yes (but you don't plug the holes). http://www.corvettefever.com/howto/16758/index.html

You asked about cap and rotor only. That is what I replied to. If you use the old cap, you won't have a vented system. IMO, don't.

The other option being to use an MSD cap and rotor ($150) to convert a 93-94 to Vented.
I did mine when I did the 383 build.

You did not say MSD before, lol. You were talking about a pre-95 cap you had (not specified as MSD). MSD has their own venting system for early optis. You should probably go to their website and look it up.
