Default intake eblow help

my stock elbow has a tear in it so i need to order a new one. i decided on this.. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku wat do i do wit the blue plug (o2 sensor??) in the stock one?? sorry im a noob and i need help

The sensor that plugs into the elbow is the IAT (intake air temperature) sensor. The metal intake elbow you linked has a provision for the IAC in it so that is not a problem. I don't know what year your car is, but if it's a '95-'97, you'll have to drill a small hole for the opti vent tube. Other than that, its a direct swap.
I would just try to find a replacement from a junkyard, cheapest option.
Here is a replacement elbow incase you wanted one, it's pricey though:

It's a 1LE so it doesn't have that big hole for the silencer.

The IAT sensor is required. You can drill the hole for the valve. I put a one way valve, works just fine.

I know old thread, but I got a polished Trick Flow elbow used about a year ago and it didn't have any hardware with it. I eded up getting a PCV valve grommet from Advance Auto in the HELP! section for a GM 3800 engine and it fits perfectly in the hole. The next step in to bore the crap out of the hole for IAT to fit in. Boring is the longest process; I used a square file. Hope that helps.

I'm wondering if that TrickFlow elbow is a direct fit to the stock 48 mm throttle body and MAF sensor. The description on the Summit web site indicates that it is a "replacement" part for the TrickFlow kit.

If there were no grommets with the part how does it clamp and seal on both ends? Do you think there would be any issue with an airfoil on the factory TB?

ive got a brand new 1LE elbow i never used. bought a ram air hood and firehawk intake. Tyler if you want my 1LE elbow I'll sell it for $50 plus shipping. if you have a paypal account that will work best. just pm me your zip code and I will see how much sipping costs if its worth it (or better off for you to order locally - i'm up in toronto)

It's a direct fit, I have the trickflow on my car. As I recall the trickflow piece came with couplers to clamp it to your maf and to the throttle body.

If you haven't made a purchase, I would also recommend the 1LE. I seem to recall seeing some photos showing the 1LE to be quite a bit larger than the Trickflow elbow. It could have been some other aluminum elbow in the photos I saw.

It doesn't have the couplers... that's what makes it a "replacement" for the original kit. Just a bit cheaper than you buying a kit that comes with more hose clamps and couplers that you don't need if you already had the kit and need ot replace the elbow.

At least that's my take on it.

I see guys, thanks. If tylerd827 doesn't have the kit already on the car he needs TFS-3150800 as the Summit part # if going with trickflow. I see there's a non-coated kit for $80 (TFS-315B800). Some people seem to think the aluminum elbows heat soak and you end up with warmer intake air; at least at lower engine speeds.
