Default E-Bay "shorty" headers...

I was crusing E-bay yesterday, and just for grins, I punched in LT-1 as a search term. Up came a bunch of stainless, shorty headers. They seem to be SLP "knockoffs". Anybody else seen or used them??

I would probibly avoid getting them since I've heard a few horror stories about some of them. Try heading down to New Era Performance and buy a set of Pasesetter LT's and ORY right in Gates (1322 Buffalo Rd). Thats where I bought mine from (theyre a sponsor here too). They usually have them in stock too so you could probibly walk right in and walk out the same day with what you need.

There should be a ban on making Shorty Headers

seen these myself a while back ago as well they seem to go for $100-$200 shipped seems like a good deal on s.s. headers though, but they are shorties...I looked up the feedback on the sales for these and buyers report them as being a perfect fit except for a bit restrictive openings

You should search "LT1", as thats what ours is. LT-1 is the original 60s-70s model.

If you're getting them for more than $45 (IE, you're getting a good deal from a buddy or something), you might as well spend more money and get Mids.

Yeah, personally I'd love to go with LT's, but due to the strick emissions here I'm stuck with either shorties or mids.

I live in CA (smog **** nation!) and I have LT's, no cats, no EGR or AIR...You can have what you want, you just have to pay for it.

Oh, and +3 on banning shorties. Man, think of all the poor saps who blew there money on false power hopes...

^I've gone that route before and it was ok at the time, but I'm sick of having to deal with it. I guess I'm just not devoted to the cause, lol. Since this car is just a mild toy I'll be more than happy to waste my money on BBK shorties, which improved 2 tenths and 2 mph in the 1/4 on my old 1994 TA on the only pass I ever got to make with that setup.

Shorties push the TQ curve higher, so they make great street machines!

All I asked was if anybody was familiar with the SLP knockoff "shorties" that have recently appeared on E-bay. The mid vs. shorty vs longtubes debate has been well documented. Some of us, have street cars that we might want to grab a few extra hp for, as well as pass a visual smog check, that's all......

Fixed.

And we know what you asked Lead, we're trying to tell you to not waste your money, knock off or brand name. Put a few more bucks down on some Mids. You'll keep great street manners and actually pick up some usable power.

Yeah, I can definitely agree, no matter what kind of headers anyone decides to go with, get a good brand. Knockoff parts (especially something prone to fitment issues like headers) are just asking for problems.
