I'm in the market for a set of long tubes. Need to tuck up well (Sportline Springs) so naturally I've been looking at Pacesetters. The cost savings and stainless steel attracted me to these, but I feel like I'm taking a little bit of a gamble if I order a set.

What are your plans now?

are we talking about a bolt on car? because the smaller primaries will be fine for that. im looking at a 24x/24x .6xx/.6xx cam with a 200 shot of nitrous so i need larger primaries. for a bolt on car its a great deal. they are pacesetter knock offs, designed exactly like them (ive never had ground clearance issues with Pacesetters)

Yeah, right now. It currently has Edelbrock TES Shortys (see fquick in sig for mods) I'm looking to do it this Spring Break or this summer. Next year will be my senior year (college) so after that I'll have more money to dump into my car.

After graduation, I'm looking at a 226/234 and 190cc heads if not bigger. Most likely with atleast a budget 355, freshening up the bottom end.

I guess I'm mostly wondering if it's just been your luck or they are all like this. I guess I should spend the extra $200 and get pacesetters. Cheapest I've found Pacesetters with a ORY is about $550.

get them from Jet-hot, they will be coated inside and out and have a life time warranty on the coating

And that's like what? $800 with ORY?

I've also go to be very careful about ground clearance. Here's a LT1 with Sportlines and Hooker SuperComps.

im pretty sure super comps are one of the lowest hanging longtube header, if not the low lowest.

Whoevers car that is could gain some valuable clearance by cutting that flange off and rotating it a bit too.

i put the stainless headers on the other week, the only issues i had was i had to drill the hell out of the flanges and the collectors are very close to the floor board as well. i had to beat the snot out of the floor to get the y pipe on.

Think I found a good enough price on Pacesetters to just go with those.

Did you do motor mounts while you were under there? Could be the reason why you had to clearance the car for them.

RedLT1Z: I have the Prokit on mine and the headers themselves tuck up nice, its the cats that scrape on my car. I'll probably be ditching the catted y-pipe this Spring and just running an offroad y. I have to be careful as to where speed bumps, pot holes & dips etc. are so I don't scrape anything. With Sportlines, I think any header will hang pretty low to the ground.

Haha, I know. I talked to the owner of the car I posted a pic of and he said he does okay and that I just need to be really careful. The pacesetters should tuck up a bit better than Hooker SuperComps though. It's only temporary. In a year or two I'll be getting a set of Strano's and Koni's most likely. That should put me at about where you are at. (ride height)

It's also not a DD.

My car has long tubes with no egr or air connections, a huge off road Y, and and SLP Loudmouth. The long tubes are coated (peeling) and look similar to these, but I don't know what brand they are. I have a friend who drools over them every time he is around my car, so I'm thinking about selling them to him and buying these Ebay headers from eWorldSales1 since ya'll have such great things to say about them and plus they are stainless. May just let him get the LM1 too since the car is way too loud. Anyone have ideas on quieting down the loudmouth without killing the power? I am thinking of a muffler after the rear Y, but that would only quiet half the exiting exhaust...if that much.
