Everyone is going to tell you to talk to Lloyd Elliot or advanced inductions, I will just say go bigger than the LT4 hot cam

Go big or go home...

Custom grind from Llyod, installing mine now and that's the only way I'd go.

I'm personally not a big fan of the cc306, it's old tech and many custom and newer off-the-shelf stuff can make the same power, more efficiently, on a smaller grind or better designed one

Yes the cc306 is old tech but the key is IT WORKS. If you choose not to go with that look at the XFI grinds they are a little better technology.

+1

AI and LE both have grinds that make the same peak power with more midrange and low end, using less duration and easier to tune.

So much cc306 hate, geez.

You guys act like it was hand carved with a chisel way back in the 1930's. If you ground a new cam with Comp's newer XFI lobes with the same exact lift and duration numbers as the 306 I bet it wouldn't pick up more than 5hp, if that. The 306 is an excellent camshaft.

I don't hate the cc306, it's a proven performer. but the fact of the matter is better cams exist and with all costs being the same why not opt for a better design

it's not a true LT1 cam, it's a gen 1 design carried over for a gen2. From what I've heard the very large split on the cc306 isn't optimal for the design of the intake nor heads

You just confirmed our suspicions. 5HP might not mean alot to you, but if it's the same price as the 306, why wouldn't you?

Too bad there isn't an XFI cam ground with exactly the same specs, so we'll never know. I didn't say it would gain 5hp, I said "if that". People bash this cam like there's no tomorrow. I know cars that run this cam well into the 11's, actually bottom 11's.
