When power suddenly drops off it is an indication of a problem, a HUGE number of folks trust the wrong people and get poorly matched valvetrain.

A properly setup package should lose power fairly slowly and be fastest if reved say 500rpms past peak to make use of AVERAGE power.

I am sure you can post graphs all day, but my argument would be the average person does things WRONG so you have to take the information with a grain of salt.

I would usually blame valvefloat from incorrectly choosen or improperly installed springs.

The 847 will not peak under 6k on a stock shortblock car. My much smaller custom grind peaked at 6k on a stock shortblock with ported stockers.

I agree it is usually valve float, but as soon as I neglect to mention the other stuff someone will argue with me.
