Default Lt1..Coil?

I know there are some people out there working on a non Opti LT1...but who does this engine belong to? And can you shed some light on it. That is down right sexy. A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into that motorhttp://www.lt1engine.com/?level=picture&id=351

That one probably has the Opti still for a couple signals, and is still the LT1 computer. It's a kit that's been around for quite awhile.

There are 2 current setups that eliminate the LT1 computer, but one still uses the Optical sensor, the other just uses the Opti unit housing. Both use reluctor wheels to do part of the job.

So while that motor is damn nice, it's not near as involved as you think It could very well just be a repainted mostly stock LT1 with LTCC mod and LT4 composite valve covers with the chromed center inserts.

Here's the 2 threads. Both are still ongoing projects, but are also both in working stages.

Cheapest version, but a bit further behind in dev due to working on computer tune.

Been in the works the longest and has better support due to being developed by a company (even if it's only a handful of people heh). Quite a long thread, as I posted it long ago.

I guess my next question is, would that mod be worth doing on a modded blown 383. When it comes to the ignition systems on the LT's I am very uneducated.

My buddy put that set up on his STS rear mount turbo lt1 and he said it has a better spark for the boost and the spark wasn't as erratic. I would use it instead of a opti no matter the application blown or n/a
