You have an A4 or M6 trans? If the latter, I'd say practice launching, if an A4 I'd say get at least a 2500 stall.

96lt1m6 is right hough, you should be close to that if you can pull off a solid launch. Otherwise I'd say some suspension mods and you're set! There's been stock LT1s with just full suspension that hit mid-high 12s, so a 100shot should solidify that.

Atleast a Yank SS 3600, anything less is a waste of time.

Everytime someone recommends a purely racing part, I have to remind them that not everyone is out to make their car a dragster :\ Some of these are DDs that they like to take to the track and a 3600 is going to kill the gas mileage. That's why I mentioned at least a 2500 but I wouldn't go over 3K if is driven on the road a lot.

Sounds to me like the OP isn't concerned with anything else, because all he wants is to run faster times. I've used a 3600 converter as my daily driver for 6 years and, while gas mileage suffers a negligible percent, the gains at the track are worth 1 or 2 mpg, IMO, especially when the priority to go faster supersedes gas mileage on a V8 12-second car. And if gas mileage really is a concern, make sure you get a lock-up converter.

Go with a 3500+ stall. With the bolt-ons mentioned and a sticky tire (and a rear that can handle it) on top of a 3500 stall, you'll catapult yourself into the 12s easily (all motor - no nitrous).

What are you running now? What kind of 60' times?

Before anyone can answer you well, you have to answer those two questions.

I completely disagree. It has nothing to do with there being a definite threshold for what can or cannot be driven on the street. Driveability comes down to personal preference. As for gas mileage...If you drive a V8 FBody and that is a concern of yours, then

I never said it was impossible to drive on the street Or if I did, please quote that part. I said it'll hurt the fuel economy. Our cars get quite good fuel economy, so why can't I enjoy the best of both worlds? Doesn't seem like I'm asking too much. And you can go faster with out touching your motor or transmission, I already pointed that out.

He's probably hitting the 100 shot and spinning the Nittos. A set of Micky Thompsons would most likely get him some 12.5's.
