clutch problem

clutch problem took a old clutch out of a 96 lt1 camaro and had the flywheel surfaced and put a ram clutch and flex plate and new throw out bearing, in and now after new install wont go in reverse unless you start the car in reverse. my theory is the slave cylinder its the stock one but i think hes going to have to get an adjustable one to take care of his problem any help would help out.
