if i was planning to use nitrous id go 306 for n/a id use the 847

I hope he meant the heads were milled 40 thousandths.

BTW to the OP these cams will not work with LS1's at all!

I like the 847 myself. Local guy has it in his Bird and it sounds mean as hell and has been reliable so far

I agree with this guy I only went with gm847 because I got a great deal on a NIB one. But IMO the cc306 duration is too much on exhaust, too little on intake, and the lift is too small.

CC306 --- 230@ .510 INT/ 244@ .540 EXT (1.5RR)--- 112 LSA --- 1800-5800
GM847 --- 234@ .539 INT/ 242@ .558 EXT (1.5RR)--- 112 LSA --- 2000-6800

ok if this s the valve lift for the gm847 with 1.5RRs, what would be the valve lift with 1.6RRs,,i ve got valve springs with maximum .600in valve lift

Divide by 1.5 then multiply that by 1.6.

.575/.595

pretty close to the raggid edge for a .600" spring IMO, check with lloyd, he can get you a custom cam for only a couple bucks more than an off the shelf cam and it will work with your parts and goals
