Umm yea that is what the inside of the chambered mufflers looks like...but like it was said before, looks are decieving, just because something looks like if flows or doesnt flow well can mean absolutely nothing. Biggest example, 4th gen camaro's and firebirds....aerodynamically speaking pretty much suck...you know whats better...3rd gen camaro, i believe that it was the most aerodynamic F-Body created.
As far as the gmmg being expensive, part of that is because they dont actually make their exhaust, its outsourced to stainless works if im not mistaken, that right there is a big part of the cost. A lot of it is also the name, simply because it sounds dam good, i wouldn't trade my gmmg for anything else, plus is got mine for a phenomenal price from matt murphy but even if that didnt happen id probably be willing to pay full price. But it is also very true that the magnaflow for the money is probably the best quality, the sound is just a little too dialed down for me. Ill never get rid of my gmmg, had many many compliments on the sound of my car and its just right to me, not too loud and not too quiet. Plus my car still put down pretty dam good power if it is that restrictive

I have correspondence directly from GMMG stating that their exhaust is not manufactured by Stainless Works.

If that is what the inside of gmmg looks like then I'll pass. You know that can't flow as well as a smooth wall pipe like an ultraflow. I believe the aerodynamic 3rd gen you are referring to is the Firebird, not the Camaro. It is much sleeker than a 3rd gen Camaro.

im not gunna read all 4 pages of this crap, but i got my flowmaster 80 series CB purchased and installed with a Y pipe for 450 thats including tax, with an e-cutout costing 200 and 20 to weld in. i'd say thats the cheapest, but most efficient combo for being quiet, yet still being able to make the greatest HP at the end of the day. plus i honestly like how my flowmasters sound even if it is a chokemaster, thats why i got the E-cutout! and thats 670 total for CB E-cutout and install. still cheaper than GMMG, while flowing better as well. and the exhaust shop that did my exhaust did all stainless piping so really he just bought the flowmaster muffler and did all his own piping. including the Y-pipe and it all looks amazing to me.

Maybe the 3rd Gen firechickens were less of an aerodynamic brick than their cousin Camaro's, but both cars weighed a ton.

Not to completely usurp this thread, but how the heck is a 3rd gen F-body more aerodynamic than a 4th gen??? If you are comparing the Camaro's, the 3rd gen is a brick compared to its successor. Just take a look at that silver bullet in my sig - reason they don't make those cars anymore is b/c it couldn't pass the new front crash test standards (and looking at the car is it really that much of a suprise?
)
