Default EGR question

Turned the EGR airflow malfunction code. Took the EGR valve off and found no carbon build up. Cleaned up EGR and re-installed. If it turns code again whats next?

did you check to make sure the build up wasn't inside the intake. Try running the car without the egr bolterd on and let it suck/blow. Spray carb cleaner in the suck port to get any buildup gone. Then install the EGR and press up on the diaphram and make sure its choaking the motor if it's not you have a problem with the EGR or the EGR tube off the manifold or header. If all that checks out make sure you have vaccum at the little rubber line into the EGR, if not you have a blockage in the line or port. After all that I believe there is a EGR vaccum switch routed inline with eh vaccum line off gthe intake to the EGR.
